My reason for not posting until now has been a simple one. I am embarrassed to put up postings with the most uncreative name on this blog. Come on my own name, its pretty pathetic that I can't think of anything else to use, so I decided not to write until something better was thought of. That may never happen though and instead of not having a voice in the extremely popular and fast growing blog of ours I decided to suck it up and just write.
I have come to the very unoriginal conclusion (see a general theme starting to develop here) that planet Earth and our entire existence is just the project of an alien species. Though this idea has been brought up before by Douglas Adams in his book The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy and also by Scientology, though in a totally different way, I have come to my own conclusions about the issue.
I was walking with Capital Punshier on my way to the other side of the Heights today and we were struck by the odd realization that even though the sun was out and shinning and there was not a cloud in the sky but it was freezing cold and we were confused by this. Yeah its winter and the Earth tilts on its axis away from the sun but the sun is still shinning and we are still getting its rays on our planet's surface (if we weren't there would be total darkness) so it raised to question of why does it get so cold.? I put both puncutation marks there because I am unsure which one to use. Anyway...so I came to the only logical conclusion which is that someone or something has turned on a giant airconditioner, which then lead me to think that there must be something else out there and the next thing you know there is a light bulb going off in my head and it hit me: We were put here by aliens for whom we are nothing more than either a science experiment or pets (either or you can choose for yourself which idea sits more comfortably with you).

interesting theory, but i think as admins of the fastest growing blog in america, we have a responsibilty to not posit such unfounded and improbable conjectures. they're gonna take us for some sort of cult (not sure who "they" is, but they're clearly out there: 8,000 hits!)

You see as you said the earth rotates on an axis and during the winter, the northern hemisphere is farther away than during the summer. due to this added distance, the rays that reach the earth have traveled a bit farther and have lost some of their heat. this causes the decrease in temperature that you have noticed. therefore, even though the sun is shinning and there are no clouds, you will not feel the same heat as you would during the summer. next time you decide to rant about a topic, i suggest that you research it before you make a fool of yourself on the internet. if this is what your blog is meant for, then thats fine, but if it isn't then i suggest that you just stop writing and let the rest of the bloggers do their job. cause you just are retarded. and as for a name for yourself: i had no idea that joey was your real name, so kudos for tipping us off on that one. but try this one on: joeyisanidiot? (i put the question mark in cause i wasn't sure which punctuation to use)

ReplyDeleteFirst question: is joeyisanidiot your permanent blogger name or some hyper creative temporary one? It seems to me that outside of this context, that would be a very silly name for a blogger. Even if it is just for the comment I would have gone with something more universal that way you wouldn't need to create a new name every time you want to comment on someone's blog. I recommend Imadouche, because it sounds french, which I enjoy and it's also descriptive.
Second question: how many of you are there? This sentence of yours leaves me befuddled, "i had no idea that joey was your real name, so kudos for tipping us off on that one." Are you an us or an I?
Third question: does your shift button not work, or are you related to e. e. cummings (if you don't get this reference, look him up you could stand to learn something).
Fourth question: this one isn't really a question at all, but fuck off.
boy did i miss a lot while i was asleep. first of all, as douchey as joeyisanidiot is, conflict is always interesting, and we welcome disagreement on this blog, as that is the only way to get to the truth. thats why i was against shella's song being removed. drama = ad revenue. so kudos to joeyisanidiot for his/her honesty and self-confidence. some people would be embarrassed about being such a douche bag in front of 11,000 people, but you didn't shy away. another thing i should commend u for not being ashamed of: bad sense of humor. some people who arent funny tend to step out of the limelight and simply not make any jokes, but u put yourself out there without compunction, noticing, in brilliant seinfeldian fashion, that "joey" is an uncreative name. even though he himself had made the same exact point. i won't commend u on being unashamed of your stupidity, because u probably think that you're correct about the science portion of your comment, but in case you're interested in learning something: the reason it is colder in the winter is not because the sun is farther away. it is because the rays are striking the earth at a greater angle. during summer the sun is actually farther away but its rays are directly overhead. so anyway joeyisanidiot we welcome your comments so everyone can learn how the world doesnt really work, and what kind of comments to avoid when trying to be funny.

What has this world come to when something so whimsical and entertaining had to be removed just because some nitwitty nincompoops which sticks up their asses cannot handle exquisite humor?? This is my question. I mean, the right to freedom of speech is recognized as a human right under Article 19 of the Declaration of Human Rights. Any ignoramus simpleton should know that. I vote that Shella's ingenious song be reposted, and that an apology be bestowed upon her.

Capital Punisher, the question I have for you is how far do we go with this free market of ideas of yours? Not that I am against it but all freedoms have their limits. I mean would you be willing to let non apt members post on our blog? You could argue that it is onyl right cause it is the free market of ideas, but its not and not only that but it would destroy the whole nature of our blog.

Joey, the main thing is that a 15 washterracer posted the song, not an outsider, so it was in tune w the nature of the blog. we just need to employ a vetting standard for what can make it through. if we deny someone their right to have something posted by a 15washterrace friend, or as a guest poster, it should be for lack of quality, not for political reasons. the person who posted the song cound hav esaid no, but exercsied his judgment and thought it would be best and most interesting to post it. as roomates, we shou;d defer to his judgment. sometimes.
